Chris Taylor (knee) remains absent from the Dodgers' lineup for Saturday's game against the Astros.

Jun 24   3:27 PM

The expectation here was that Taylor would return to Los Angeles' lineup on Saturday, but that's not happening. It'll be Michael Busch getting another start at the hot corner with the versatile utility specialist missing his sixth consecutive game due to an ongoing right knee issue.

Ben Lively has been scratched from Sunday's start against the Braves due to pectoral soreness.

Jun 24   3:11 PM

It sounds like the Reds will either roll with a bullpen game or call up a spot starter to fill the void. No word yet on whether Lively will require a trip to the injured list. The 31-year-old journeyman has pitched well this season for the Reds, compiling a solid 4.11 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 45/13 K/BB ratio across 46 innings (nine appearances, seven starts). There should be some clarity on his status later this weekend, if not sooner.

Rangers placed RHP José Leclerc on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to June 21, with a right ankle sprain.

Jun 24   2:55 PM

Leclerc hasn't factored into the Rangers' closing mix at all this season with lefty Will Smith usurping the role and never looking back. However, he's been a reliable late-inning option, despite his omnipresent control issues. The 29-year-old righty should be ready to return in a few weeks.

Brandon Woodruff (shoulder) threw a 25-pitch bullpen session on Saturday.

Jun 24   2:38 PM

Woodruff threw mainly fastballs in his latest session and is expected to throw again on Monday. He's facing an extended rehabilitation process as he builds up his arm strength and pitch count over the next few weeks. The 30-year-old right-hander has been out since mid-April due to a right shoulder strain. There's a chance he's ready to return at some point in a few weeks.

Blue Jays placed RHP Adam Cimber on the 15-day injured list with a right shoulder impingement.

Jun 24   2:38 PM

No word yet on how long Cimber will be sidelined, but he's likely facing an extended absence. The 32-year-old righty has compiled a calamitous 7.40 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 12/7 K/BB ratio across 20 2/3 innings (22 appearances) this season out of Toronto's bullpen.

Rangers placed RHP José Leclerc on the 15-day injured list with a right ankle sprain.

Jun 24   2:38 PM

Leclerc hasn't factored into the Rangers' closing mix at all this season with lefty Will Smith usurping the role and never looking back. However, he's been a reliable late-inning option, despite his omnipresent control issues. The 29-year-old righty should be ready to return in a few weeks.

Rangers recalled RHP Yerry Rodríguez from Triple-A Round Rock.

Jun 24   2:38 PM

Codi Heuer underwent season-ending surgery on Friday to repair a fractured right elbow.

Jun 24   1:56 PM

Heuer was making his way back from Tommy John surgery before suffering a fractured right elbow earlier this week. Barring any setbacks, he should be healthy for spring training.

Brandon Hughes is scheduled to undergo knee alignment surgery later this month.

Jun 24   1:56 PM

It's a pretty significant loss for the Cubs as Hughes was one of their better high-leverage options last season as a rookie, but has been plagued by omnipresent knee issues the past few months. It's officially a distal femoral osteotomy procedure to realign his left knee. The hope is that he'll be ready for spring training next year.

Cubs OF prospect Brennen Davis will be out for eight weeks after undergoing core muscle surgery.

Jun 24   1:56 PM

Davis has been stationed at Triple-A Iowa this season and will be out until at least late August after undergoing the abdominal procedure.

Luke Raley (hand) has returned to the Rays' lineup for Saturday's showdown against the Royals.

Jun 24   1:39 PM

Raley underwent precautionary X-rays and a CT scan that both returned negative for any fractures after he was hit by a pitch on the right hand during Thursday's game against Kansas City. The righty-mashing slugger is back in left field and batting third on Saturday afternoon against the Royals.

Reds optioned RHP Alan Busenitz to Triple-A Louisville.

Jun 24   1:39 PM

Busenitz is the corresponding move to activate righty Graham Ashcraft from the injured list ahead of Saturday's start against the Braves. The 32-year-old righty has made four relief appearances this season for the Reds in his first taste of the majors since the 2018 campaign.

Royals optioned RHP Jackson Kowar to Triple-A Omaha.

Royals recalled RHP James McArthur from Triple-A Omaha.

Jun 24   1:39 PM

McArthur was acquired back in early May from the Phillies in a small trade and will be making his first appearance in the majors when he gets into a game. The 26-year-old righty has posted an underwhelming 5.94 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 46/19 K/BB ratio across 36 1/3 innings (17 appearances, five starts) this season in Triple-A.

Travis Jankowski (hamstring) remains absent from the Rangers' lineup for Saturday's game against the Yankees.

Jun 24   1:39 PM

Jankowski will sit out his second straight game following an early exit from Wednesday's contest against the White Sox due to a hamstring cramp. There's a chance he's available off the bench at some point this weekend.

Esteury Ruiz is batting ninth on Saturday against the Blue Jays.

Jun 24   1:39 PM

Ruiz has been shipped to the bottom of Oakland's lineup card after sitting out Friday's series opener in Toronto. The 24-year-old speedster has recorded a major league-leading 39 stolen bases through 75 games. He's been the Athletics' primary leadoff option since mid-April, so this is a development fantasy managers should monitor over the next few days.

Orioles optioned RHP Logan Gillaspie to Triple-A Norfolk.

Jun 24   1:11 PM

Gillaspie threw two innings on Friday evening against the Mariners and has been shipped out to enable Baltimore to bring in a fresh bullpen arm for the remainder of the series. The 26-year-old righty has made 11 relief appearances this season in the majors.
