Padres recalled RHP Reiss Knehr from Triple-A El Paso.

The 26-year-old returns to the majors on Sunday. Knehr has pitched well as a reliever at Triple-A El Paso, posting a 3.93 ERA and 1.17 WHIP. He will pitch in low-leverage situations while he is with the team.


Mets claimed RHP Reed Garrett off waivers from the Orioles.

Garrett was designated for assignment earlier this month by the Orioles. The 30-year-old posted a superb 1.59 ERA and 1.28 WHIP across 19 appearances at Triple-A Norfolk this year.


Matthew Liberatore allowed four unearned runs over 2 1/3 innings on Sunday but did not factor in the decision.

The Cardinals struggled out of the gate on Sunday and committed two errors in the first inning. However, Liberatore didn't make it easier on himself either. He gave up four hits and struck out only three batters while walking two. He generated four swinging strikes on 56 pitches, posting a dreadful 25 percent CSW. He will look to take a step forward against the Yankees in St. Louis on Saturday.


Trey Mancini went 1-for-1 with a double and two RBI in a 7-5 loss to the Cardinals on Sunday.

Mancini double in the first inning which gave the Cubs a quick 3-0 lead. However, he was replaced in the top of the third inning after struggling on defense at first base. The 31-year-old is hitting .245/.317/.364 with four homers and 23 RBI across 207 plate appearances.


Tigers sent RHP Braden Bristo outright to Triple-A Toledo.

The 28-year-old lost his spot on the roster when Detriot acquired Blair Calvo from the Rockies in the middle of June. He will return to Triple-A Toledo and will remain with the Tigers as extra bullpen depth.


Willison Contreras went 4-for-4 and scored twice in the Cardinals' 7-5 win over the Cubs on Sunday.

With the perfect day at the dish, the 31-year-old backstop raised his average to .216. Hopefully, his performance on Sunday gets the veteran back on track.


Jordan Walker went 1-for-4 and extended his hit streak to 15 games.

Both of Walker's batted balls had an exit velocity above 110 mph. Walker is hitting .333 in the month of June and has carved out an everyday role as the Cardinals designated hitter.


Angels recalled RHP Andrew Wantz from Triple-A Salt Lake.

Wantz returns to the Angels bullpen on Sunday. During his time at Triple-A Salt Lake, the 27-year-old posted a 4.22 ERA and 1.50 WHIP over nine appearances. He should pitch in middle relief while he is with the team.


Angels optioned LHP Kolton Ingram to Triple-A Salt Lake.

The 26-year-old posted a dreadful 15.43 ERA and 3.00 ERA in his two appearances for the Angels. He will return to Triple-A and serve as organizational depth.


Reds selected the contract of RHP Randy Wynne from Triple-A Louisville.

Wynne is a 30-year-old reliever who will make his major league debut whenever he toes the rubber for the Reds. Wynne has a 5.12 ERA and 1.39 WHIP across 12 appearances for Triple-A Louisville.


Reds designated RHP Silvino Bracho for assignment.

Bracho tossed two innings and struck out two on Saturday but was removed from the Reds roster to make room for Randy Wynns. Bracho was designated for assignment earlier this year, so there is a strong possibility he will pass through waviers unclaimed again.


David Peterson will start Tuesday's game against the Brewers.

Peterson will take Tylor Megill's spot in the rotation. Since he was optioned to Triple-A, the 27-year-old has a 4.50 ERA, 1.50 WHIp, and 39/18 K/BB ratio over six games. He struggled in his first eight starts this season and should only be rostered in NL-only leagues at this point.


White Sox manager Pedro Grifol told reporters on Sunday that Liam Hendriks will not return from the injured list before the All-Star break.

Hendriks landed on the injured list earlier this month with right elbow inflammation. He received a platelet-rich plasma injection and has resumed throwing, but he needs more time to heal. Kendall Graveman will continue to handle the closing duties for the White Sox in his absence.


Mychal Givens (shoulder) felt soreness in his right shoulder during his minor league rehab assignment and is being evaluated by team doctors in Baltimore.

Not good. However, Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said there is a low level of concern. Givens has been sidelined since May 21 due to inflammation in his right shoulder and posted an 11.25 ERA before the injury.


Reds recalled RHP Levi Stoudt from Triple-A Louisville.

Levi Stoudt returns to the Reds' active roster and will start against the formidable Atlanta Braves on Sunday. The 25-year-old posted a 10.29 ERA and 2.14 WHIP over seven innings of work earlier this season. At this point, the right-hander is not fantasy relevant and should remain on the waiver wire.


Marcus Stroman left Sunday's game with a blister on his right index finger.

Luckily, the blister had not yet opened up, but the team thought it would be best to pull him from the game before it worsened. The team will announce after today's game if the 32-year-old will miss his next start against the Guardians on Saturday.


Seranthony Domínguez (oblique) played catch on Sunday.

It was the first time the 28-year-old fireball reliever played catch since he landed on the injured list on June 17. He is eligible to return from the 15-day injured list on July 1, but he will not be ready by then. The Phillies are hopeful he will not be out too much longer than that.


Rockies recalled RHP Nick Mears from Triple-A Albuquerque.

Mears missed a few weeks earlier this season with an oblique strain but has struggled since being optioned to Triple-A earlier this month. He will pitch in low-leverage situations and is not a factor for saves at this point.

The 25-year-old has struggled out of the Rockies bullpen, posting a 10.19 ERA and 2.04 WHIP over five appearances (three starts). He will head back to Triple-A Albuquerque to continue working out of the bullpen.


Ke'Bryan Hayes is not in the Pirates' starting lineup for Sunday's game against Marlins.

It appears to be a regular day of rest for the 26-year-old third baseman. Hayes has been outstanding in June, hitting .337/.337/.518 with three homers and 13 RBI. Rodolfo Castro is playing third base and batting eighth in his place.
