Ryan McMahon went 2-for-3 with an RBI on Wednesday in the Rockies' loss to the Red Sox.

Jun 14   11:55 PM

McMahon put the Rockies ahead briefly with a sixth-inning RBI double off Garrett Whitlock, but the lead didn't last very long as Colorado's bullpen wound up imploding in the ensuing frame.

Alex Verdugo went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI on Wednesday, leading the Red Sox to a 6-3 win over the Rockies.

Jun 14   11:55 PM

Verdugo's three-hit performance, which included a first-inning RBI single and a seventh-inning RBI double, helped the Red Sox avoid a potential three-game sweep at the hands of the Rockies at Fenway Park. The 27-year-old outfielder is batting .292/.367/.447 with 43 runs scored, five homers, 26 RBI and three stolen bases across 289 plate appearances.

Ben Lively pitched well in a victory over the Royals on Wednesday evening, allowing just two runs on 10 hits over his 5 2/3 innings of work.

Jun 14   11:34 PM

The right-hander punched out four batters on the night and didn't issue a base on balls. He allowed a run-scoring single to Bobby Witt Jr. in the third inning, then gave up an RBI double to Dairon Blanco in the sixth inning -- the final batter that he faced. Lively got 10 swings and misses on 95 pitches in the ballgame, posting a CSW of 25 percent. Now 4-4 on the season, Lively will carry a respectable 4.07 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and a 41/9 K/BB ratio (42 innings) into Tuesday's matchup against the Rockies.

Dairon Blanco went 2-for-5 with a double, triple and an RBI as the Royals fell to the Reds on Wednesday evening in Kansas City.

Jun 14   11:34 PM

The 30-year-old speedster smacked an RBI double in the sixth inning that pulled the Royals to within five runs at 7-2. He also added a two-out triple in the eighth, but was stranded at third base. It looks like the Royals are going to give him everyday at-bats in the outfield for the time being, making him a worthy speculative add for fantasy managers in deeper leagues that are looking to add speed.

Alexis Díaz notched his 17th save of the season on Wednesday night, recording the final two outs to protect a three-run lead against the Royals.

Jun 14   11:34 PM

It didn't look like the right-hander would be needed in this one, but he was summoned after the Royals pushed a run across in the ninth to make things a bit closer. Díaz hit Nicky Lopez upon entering, but battled back to strike out Freddy Fermin and then got Dairon Blanco to ground out to end the night. He now boasts an outstanding 1.61 ERA, 0.79 WHIP and 50/12 K/BB ratio over 28 innings on the year.

Jonathan India went 2-for-4 and swatted his eighth home run of the season on Wednesday night as the Reds topped the Royals in Kansas City.

Jun 14   11:34 PM

India smacked an RBI double off of Daniel Lynch in the fourth inning to give the Royals a 2-1 lead. He then blasted the third of three Reds' homers in the fifth inning -- with his 409-foot (103.8 mph EV) solo shot off of Lynch to increase the Reds' advantage to 7-1. He finished the night 2-for-4 and is now hitting .278/.361/.433 with eight homers and 36 RBI on the season.

Justin Verlander yielded one run over six innings on Wednesday in a no-decision against the Yankees.

Jun 14   11:34 PM

The Yankees made Verlander work in this one as he needed a whopping 107 pitches (68 strikes) to complete six frames. A sixth-inning RBI single from Jake Bauers accounted for all of the damage against him. The 40-year-old fantasy ace finished with six strikeouts and didn't hand out a free pass. He'll carry an underwhelming 4.40 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 39/13 K/BB ratio across 45 innings (eight starts) into a challenging road tilt on Tuesday against his former team in Houston.

Isiah Kiner-Falefa stole two bases on Wednesday in the Yankees' extra-inning loss to the Mets.

Jun 14   11:34 PM

According to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com, Kiner-Falefa became the first Yankees hitter to steal home since Didi Gregorius back in 2016. The 28-year-old utility man reached on a seventh-inning fielder's choice and wound up stealing home later in the frame off southpaw reliever Brooks Raley.

Johan Oviedo will start on Thursday against the Cubs.

Jun 14   11:34 PM

It sounds like the Pirates are going to give veteran left-hander Rich Hill an extra day of rest with Oviedo taking the ball for Thursday's series finale.

Zach Neto (side) will undergo an MRI on Thursday.

Jun 14   11:06 PM

Neto told reporters following his early exit from Wednesday's game against the Rangers that he felt something on his left side on a first-inning throw, which led to his removal from the contest shortly afterwards. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. There should be some additional clarity on his status at some point on Thursday.

Salvador Perez exited Wednesday's game against the Reds after being hit by a pitch on the left hand.

Jun 14   9:58 PM

Not good. Perez appeared to be in some serious pain and will presumably head for X-rays to determine whether he suffered any fractures. There should be an update on his status shortly. Stay tuned.

Kyle Bradish allowed one run over a season-high seven innings on Wednesday in a loss to the Blue Jays.

Jun 14   9:58 PM

Bradish carried a shutout into the sixth inning before serving up a solo homer to George Springer. The 26-year-old righty finished with only one strikeout and didn't hand out a free pass. He'll bring a serviceable 3.90 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 52/16 K/BB ratio across 60 innings (12 starts) into a challenging road tilt on Tuesday against the first-place Rays.

Jordan Romano allowed one run in the ninth inning on Wednesday against the Orioles to collect his 19th save of the season.

Jun 14   9:58 PM

Romano got the call to protect a three-run lead in the final frame and managed to hang on after giving up a couple two-out hits. He got Adley Rutschman to pop up and Anthony Santander to line out to first base before giving up three consecutive two-out singles, including an RBI single to Aaron Hicks, before striking out Adam Frazier to end the contest.

George Springer belted a solo homer on Wednesday in the Blue Jays' win over the Orioles.

Jun 14   9:58 PM

Springer opened the scoring with a solo homer -- his 10th round-tripper of the season -- off righty Kyle Bradish in the sixth inning. He also reached on a fielder's choice and came around to score on Bo Bichette's eighth-inning RBI double.

Adley Rutschman went 1-for-4 with a single on Wednesday in the Orioles' loss to the Blue Jays.

Jun 14   9:58 PM

Rutschman supplied the Orioles' first hit of the contest with a leadoff single against righty José Berríos in the fifth inning. It wound up being his lone hit in four at-bats as Baltimore's offense mustered just one run on six hits combined, with three of those coming in the final frame against closer Jordan Romano.

Whit Merrifield went 3-for-4 with an RBI double and a stolen base on Wednesday, leading the Blue Jays to a 3-1 victory over the Orioles.

Jun 14   9:58 PM

Merrifield supplied a pivotal insurance run for Toronto with an eighth-inning RBI double to left-center field. He wound up swiping third base shortly afterwards, but was ultimately cut down at home plate on a double play a couple batters later. The versatile 34-year-old has 18 stolen bases through 61 games this season after managing only 16 thefts across 139 contests last year. He has a realistic shot at getting back to the 40-steal threshold for the first time since the 2021 campaign.

Harrison Bader (hamstring) went 0-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts on Wednesday in a minor league rehab game for Double-A Somerset.

Jun 14   9:12 PM

Bader played seven innings in center field in this one and is expected to return to New York's lineup for Friday's series opener against the Red Sox.

Zach Neto made an early exit from Wednesday's game against the Rangers.

Jun 14   8:42 PM

No word yet on why Neto left the contest, but he was lifted for pinch-hitter Jared Walsh in the second inning. There should be an official update on his status shortly.

Penn Murfee is heading for a second opinion on his right elbow.

Jun 14   8:24 PM

It's fair to wonder whether Murfee will pitch again this season as he continues to deal with both a UCL and nerve issue in his right elbow. There should be some definitive clarity on his status in the next few weeks, but he's certainly facing an extended absence no matter what course of action is ultimately settled upon.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. (foot) progressed to taking batting practice on Wednesday.

Jun 14   8:24 PM

Chisholm Jr. appears to be on the verge of returning to Miami's lineup in the next few weeks after landing on the injured list back in mid-May due to turf toe. The 25-year-old center fielder is expected to undergo offseason foot surgery, but is expected to be able to play through the issue for the remainder of the regular season.
