Brent Rooker went 2-for-3 with an RBI double and a walk Tuesday as the A's edged the Rays 2-1.

Jun 14   1:01 AM

After struggling in May, Rooker has been on the bench for five of Oakland's last 15 games. However, he seems to be picking it up again lately, going 8-for-24 with two homers, two doubles and six RBI in his last seven games (six starts). It should help his case for more starts over Seth Brown and Ramón Laureano.

Hogan Harris threw seven innings of one-run ball for his second victory Tuesday against the Rays.

Jun 14   1:01 AM

Seven innings for Oakland's seventh straight win. Harris started the second after Shintaro Fujinami opened with a scoreless first, and he went on to limit the Rays to four hits and no walks. He's allowed just five runs over 22 innings in four appearances (one start) since returning from the minors last month. It doesn't really give him any fantasy value, but he looks like he might be more reliable than most of the pitchers the A's have tried this season.

Yonny Chirinos pitched 3 2/3 scoreless innings behind an opener Tuesday against the A's.

Jun 14   1:01 AM

Chirinos pitched well as a starter last time out, but the Rays returned him to bulk guy duties today. He was in line for the victory when he left the game in the sixth, but the bullpen let the game slip away. Chirinos has a 2.35 ERA in 38 1/3 innings. He'll likely pitch again Sunday, whether it's as a starter or again in a bulk role.

Trevor May pitched a hitless ninth with a one-run lead Tuesday to pick up the save for the A's against the Rays.

Jun 14   1:01 AM

May walked three and was pulled from his previous outing. Tonight, he walked two, but he benefited from a caught stealing with one out and he was able to strike out Jose Siri with one on to end the game. The save is May's team-high third. He'll continue to get the call in the ninth for now, but the control issues are a concern.

Ramón Laureano was able to finish Tuesday's game after apparently injuring his fingers on a steal of third.

Jun 14   1:01 AM

Laureano was in the midst of a headfirst slide when Isaac Paredes dropped his knee into Laureano's path. Laureano's fingers were bent back, and he was in obvious pain before being able to continue. If he's not in Wednesday's lineup, this is why.

Ian Happ came out of Tuesday's game because his right calf "grabbed on him," according to manager David Ross.

Jun 14   1:01 AM

Happ had a three-run homer before exiting. Christopher Morel took over for him and also hit a three-run homer in the game. Happ is day-to-day.

Luis Ortiz allowed four runs on six hits in a loss to the Cubs on Tuesday.

Jun 14   12:18 AM

He struck out four. Most of the damage would come in the first inning after Ian Happ cranked a 393-foot bomb to right field, giving the Cubs a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the first inning. His velocity on his slider was down a tick, and he still managed six swinging strikes on 43 thrown. What is more concerning is he didn't get a single swinging strike on his four-seam fastball or sinker. Yikes. He will look for better results when he faces the Brewers at home on Sunday.

Jameson Taillon allowed three runs over six innings on Tuesday in a win against the Pirates.

Jun 14   12:18 AM

He allowed two homers to Jack Suwinski and struck out four while walking two over six innings of work. He generated 12 swinging strikes on 95 pitches but just one whiff on his four-seam fastball. The 31-year-old lowered his ERA to 6.70, and he faces a scary home matchup against the Orioles on Sunday.

Jack Suwinski went 2-for-2 with two solo homers and two walks in an 11-3 loss to the Cubs on Tuesday.

Jun 14   12:18 AM

He collected two hits, two homers, two runs scored, and walked twice on a Tuesday. You have to love symmetry. Suwinski has been good as a platoon power bat for the Pirates this season, and he raised his average to .253 with the two-hit night.

Ian Happ went 1-for-2 with a three-run homer in an 11-3 win over the Pirates on Tuesday.

Jun 14   12:18 AM

Happ blasted a 393-foot (110.3 EV) homer off Luis Ortiz in the bottom of the first inning, giving the Cubs a quick 3-1 lead. The 28-year-old is hitting .262/.390/.393 with five homers and five steals across 281 plate appearances this season.

Tanner Bibee was tagged for six runs in four-plus innings by the Padres on Tuesday.

Jun 14   12:18 AM

Bibee is usually pretty stingy with the walks, but he issued two in a row to begin what turned out to be a four-run first inning for the Padres. He never walked anyone the rest of the way, but there was no overcoming the bad start. It's the first time in nine turns that he's allowed more than four runs. His ERA jumped from 3.05 to 3.91.

Gary Sánchez hit a three-run homer Tuesday in the Padres' 6-3 in over the Guardians.

Jun 14   12:18 AM

The Kraken has six homers and 15 RBI in just 13 games for the Padres. The homer tonight left his bat at 107.4 mph, and he has also had a 110.0 mph lineout. His hard-hit rate for his new team is 59%.

Bobby Witt Jr. went 1-for-4 and smacked a two-run homer on Tuesday night, but it wasn't enough to lead the Royals to victory over the Reds.

Jun 13   11:57 PM

Witt Jr. tagged Reds' rookie southpaw Brandon Williamson for a 412-foot (102.2 mph) two-run blast in the third inning, pulling the Royals to within a run at 5-4. That would wind up being the extent of the offense for either team in the ballgame though. The batting average is the only thing lacking in his overall production this season -- slashing .237/.276/.422 with 11 homers, 30 RBI and 21 stolen bases.

Jun 13   11:57 PM

The Cardinals were a thorn in Alex Cobb's side all night. Brendan Donovan greeted him with a lead-off double before Goldschmidt brought him home on an infield single. He would walk Nolan Gorman before Nolan Arenado roped a 106.6 MPH single up the middle to load the bases. By the end of the frame, the game would be tied at two runs apiece. His day was done after four frames, but he has dealt with hip tightness recently, so the Giants didn't want to overwork him. He generated seven swinging strikes on 79 pitches, registering a woeful 24 percent CSW. He will look to get back on track when he faces the Padres at home on Monday.

Jordan Lyles wasn't at his best in Tuesday's loss to the Reds, giving up five runs on five hits over his six innings of work.

Jun 13   11:57 PM

The right-hander walked three and struck out four on the evening. All of the damage done against him came during a five-run uprising in the second inning. After that, Lyles settled in nicely and finished his day with four scoreless frames -- but the damage had already been done at that point. Lyles got six swinging strikes on 94 pitches in the contest, registering a CSW of 24 percent. He'll carry a cringe-inducing 0-11 record, 6.89 ERA and a 1.29 WHIP into Monday's matchup against the Tigers in Detroit.

Alexis Diaz slammed the door on the Royals in the ninth inning on Tuesday, working a perfect ninth inning to secure his 16th save of the season.

Jun 13   11:57 PM

Diaz delivered another dominant performance in this one -- getting Michael Massey to pop out to second base, Drew Waters to fly out to center and Darion Blanco on a swinging third strike to end the ballgame. He has been unbelievable in the ninth inning for the Reds this season -- compiling a 1.65 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and a 49/12 K/BB ratio across 27 1/3 innings.

Elly De La Cruz walked, swiped a base and scored a run on Tuesday night, helping to propel the Reds to victory over the Royals.

Jun 13   11:57 PM

The rookie sensation started a five-run rally in the second inning with a leadoff single off of Jordan Lyles. He then swiped second base, took third on an overthrow and scored the Reds' first run on an RBI single by Spencer Steer. He finished the night 0-for-3 with a pair of strikeouts, but still managed to impact the game with his speed. He's now slashing .267/.389/.467 with one homer, four RBI and five stolen bases in his first eight big league ballgames.

TJ Friedl went 2-for-3, walked and drove in a run on Tuesday, leading the Reds to a 5-4 victory over the Royals in Kansas City.

Jun 13   11:57 PM

Friedl delivered a run-scoring single during the Reds' five-run uprising over Jordan Lyles in the second inning. He then swiped second base, but wound up getting stranded at third. With his two-hit attack. the 27-year-old outfielder is now hitting .321/.370/.491 with three homers, 22 RBI and seven stolen bases.

Jun 13   11:39 PM

Jack Flaherty struck out three but allowed a season-high ten hits in a loss to the Giants on Tuesday.

Jun 13   11:39 PM

Flaherty wasn’t fooling any Giants Tuesday night. He needed 101 pitches to get through 4 ? innings and allowed six earned runs on ten hits, which is a season-high. The 27-year-old has shown flashes of brilliance this season, but he also sprinkles in a dud or two that makes him a frustrating player to roster in fantasy.
