Andy Ibáñez went 3-for-4 with a homer and a walk versus the Braves on Monday.

Jun 12   10:09 PM

The big game comes in his first start in a week. He had a nice first 10 days for the Tigers, but he entered tonight with a .180/.212/.320 line in 104 plate appearances. He's surely better than that, but he's also probably not someone who should be in the Tigers' plans for 2024 and beyond.

Raisel Iglesias gave up three runs and five hits in the ninth to blow a save Monday against the Tigers.

Jun 12   10:09 PM

Yikes. It's the first time that Iglesias has allowed five hits in an appearance in seven seasons as a reliever. He had allowed a total of two hits over 11 1/3 innings in his previous 12 outings. His velocity was fine tonight, and he got six missed swings in 27 pitches. We'll write it off as a fluke.

Charlie Morton shut out the Tigers for 5 2/3 innings, striking out eight, in a win Monday.

Jun 12   10:09 PM

Morton got a visit from the trainer in the third after he was seen shaking his shoulder in an apparent effort to get rid of some tightness. Obviously, he remained in afterwards and proved quite effective. It's the second time this year that he's gone without allowing an earned run. He was in line for the win when he left, but since the pen blew it, he remains 5-6 with a 3.60 ERA.

Michael Harris II went 3-for-4 with a homer and a steal versus the Tigers on Monday.

Jun 12   10:09 PM

Perhaps finally getting closer to 100 percent, Harris is 10-for-23 with two homers in his last five games. The steal tonight was his sixth in six attempts this season. His upside hasn't gone anywhere.

Ryan Yarbrough (face) is set to face live hitters on Wednesday.

Jun 12   9:53 PM

Yarbrough is scheduled to throw three innings of live batting practice on Wednesday -- the first time that he has done so since suffering multiple non-displaced fractures around his left eye after being hit in the face by a line drive. He's not expected to return to the Royals until late July.

Kyle Isbel (hamstring) is scheduled to begin a minor league rehab assignment at Triple-A Omaha on Tuesday.

Jun 12   9:53 PM

Isbel has been sidelined since early May due to a Grade 2 left hamstring strain. He's expected to stay there for a couple of weeks to get his timing back before potentially rejoining the Royals around the end of June. Prior to landing on the injured list, Isbel had been hitting .209/.250/.352 with one homer, nine RBI and two stolen bases in 96 plate appearances.

Trevor Rogers underwent an MRI exam on his non-throwing shoulder on Monday.

Jun 12   8:35 PM

The results of which are not yet known. He's continuing to be evaluated. Rogers was on the cusp of returning to the big league rotation before getting scratched from his final minor league rehab start on Saturday due to the shoulder issue. Once again, there's no clear timeline for when he may return.

Marcell Ozuna was pulled from Monday's game against the Tigers after being hit by a pitch in the hand by a pitch.

Jun 12   8:35 PM

Ozuna was plunked by a 94.3 mph sinker from Garrett Hill leading off the fourth inning. He remained in the game to run the bases for himself, but was lifted for a pinch-hitter the next time his spot in the order came around. Presumably he'll head for X-rays to see if there's any structural damage.

Rays signed RHP Erasmo Ramírez to a minor league contract.

Jun 12   8:35 PM

The well-traveled 33-year-old hurler will return to the organization where he did some of his best work from 2015-2017. The right-hander was released by the Nationals last week after posting a 6.33 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and a 13/6 K/BB ratio across 27 innings in 23 appearances at the big league level.

Mariners placed RHP Penn Murfee on the 15-day injured list with right elbow inflammation.

Jun 12   8:35 PM

Murfee re-aggravated his existing elbow issue during his relief appearance against the Angels on Sunday. No word yet on how long exactly he'll be sidelined, but it's likely to be a while. Ty Adcock was promoted from Triple-A Tacoma to take his place in the M's bullpen.

Mariners selected the contract of RHP Ty Adcock from Triple-A Tacoma.

Jun 12   8:35 PM

The 26-year-old hurler will join the big league club for the first time in his career, taking the place of the injured Penn Murfee (elbow). Adcock has been outstanding in 20 innings between Double-A Arkansas and High-A Everett this season -- registering a 1.35 ERA, 0.55 WHIP and a 22/3 K/BB Ratio in 18 appearances. He'll work in the middle innings for the M's.

Mariners transferred LHP Robbie Ray to the 60-day injured list.

Jun 12   8:35 PM

Nothing has changed in the left-hander's prognosis, this was merely done as a procedural move to free up a spot on the Mariners' 40-man roster for Ty Adcock on Monday. Ray underwent season-ending Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery in early May and will be sidelined until mid-way through the 2024 campaign.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr. is not in the Diamondbacks' starting lineup for Monday night's showdown against the Phillies.

Jun 12   7:54 PM

Diamondbacks' skipper Torey Lovullo told reporters that it's just a regular day of rest for the hard-hitting outfielder as they ease him back into action following a groin injury. Expect him to return to the lineup on Tuesday. Evan Longoria will function as the team's designated hitter and will bat fifth against Matt Strahm and the Phillies on Monday night.

Johnny Cueto (ankle) is scheduled to throw four innings, or around 60 pitches, in his next minor league rehab start with Double-A Pensacola on Friday.

Jun 12   7:54 PM

Cueto looked sharp in his first rehab start on Sunday, firing 2 2/3 scoreless innings and throwing 32 of his 45 pitches for strikes. He has been sidelined since suffering his Marlins' debut back in early April due to a biceps strain and a left ankle sprain. He's expected to need at least one additional rehab start after Friday before rejoining the Marlins' rotation.

Wander Franco is not in the Rays' starting lineup for Monday night's matchup against the Athletics.

Jun 12   7:32 PM

It looks like it's just a rare night off for the 22-year-old superstar shortstop. Taylor Walls will start in his place and will bat seventh against James Kaprielian and the Rays on Monday evening in Oakland.

Twins optioned OF Kyle Garlick to Triple-A St. Paul.

Jun 12   7:12 PM

Garlick continues to shuttle back and forth between Triple-A and the big leagues whenever the Twins need an extra outfielder. This time, he's paving the way for the expected return of Joey Votto on Tuesday. Garlick has struggled during his time with the big league club -- slashing .179/.233/.429 with two homers, four RBI and an 11/2 K/BB ratio over 30 plate appearances.

Bryson Stott is not in the Phillies' starting lineup for Monday night's matchup against the Diamondbacks.

Jun 12   6:52 PM

He'll take a seat with left-hander Tommy Henry toeing the slab for the Diamondbacks on Monday evening in Arizona. Josh Harrison will start in his place at second base and will bat seventh for the Phillies on Monday.

Brandon Marsh is not in the Phillies' starting lineup for Monday night's battle against the Diamondbacks in Arizona.

Jun 12   6:52 PM

With left-hander Tommy Henry taking the mound for the Diamondbacks, Phillies' skipper Rob Thomson is loading his lineup with as many right-handed bats as possible on Monday night -- so Marsh, Bryson Stott and Kody Clemens will be situated on the bench to start. Dalton Guthrie will start in his place in center field and bat ninth for the Phillies.

Lars Nootbaar (back) was able to take batting practice and do some sprinting on the field prior to Monday's game against the Giants.

Jun 12   6:24 PM

It's a nice step in the right direction for Nootbaar -- who has been shelved since May 30 due to a lower back contusion. Cardinals' skipper Oli Marmol told reporters on Monday that Nootbaar is expected to require a minor league rehab assignment before returning to the Cardinals' lineup, which puts his return at least a week away at a minimum.

Gabriel Moreno is not in the Diamondbacks' starting lineup for Monday night's contest against the Phillies.

Jun 12   6:06 PM

It's just a regular day of rest for the 23-year-old backstop. Carson Kelly- - in his return from the 60-day injured list -- will don the tools of intelligence and bat seventh for the Diamondbacks against Matt Strahm and a host of Phillies' relievers on Monday night in Arizona.
