Joey Gallo (hamstring) went 0-for-2 with an RBI on Friday in a minor league rehab game for Triple-A St. Paul.

Jun 10   7:54 AM

Gallo started at first base in this one and might be ready to return to Minnesota's injury-depleted lineup early next week, if not sooner.

Trevor Rogers (biceps) had his scheduled minor league rehab start for Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday postponed due to rain.

Jun 10   7:54 AM

Rogers will presumably take the ball on Saturday for Triple-A Jacksonville instead. It's unclear what the Marlins are going to do later next week once he's ready to return since top prospect Eury Pérez delivered another solid performance on Friday evening against the White Sox. It might be Braxton Garrett exiting Miami's rotation over Pérez at this point.

Miguel Rojas went 0-for-4 with a strikeout on Friday in his return to the Dodgers' lineup.

Jun 10   7:38 AM

Rojas has been a virtual non-factor this season at the plate, but he's provided the Dodgers with some defensive stability at shortstop and enabled them to utilize Chris Taylor in a more versatile fashion. He was back in the ninth spot in Los Angeles' lineup on Friday evening following a one-game absence due to neck tightness.

Kevin Kiermaier (wrist) appeared as a pinch-runner on Friday against the Twins.

Jun 10   7:38 AM

Kiermaier came on to pinch-run for designated hitter Brandon Belt in the 10th inning of Toronto's extra-inning loss to the Twins. He's presumably unable to resume swinging or fielding his position at the moment after being hit by a pitch during Thursday's game against the Astros. It appears there's a chance he's back this weekend once the swelling subsides.

Jorge Soler went 0-for-3 with a walk and a pair of strikeouts on Friday in his return to the Marlins' lineup.

Jun 10   7:38 AM

Soler was back in Miami's lineup at designated hitter on Friday after missing three of their previous four contests due to lingering right thumb soreness resulting from a hit by pitch last weekend. It doesn't appear that he'll wind up requiring a trip to the injured list, which is a relief for fantasy managers. He's been a steady source of over-the-fence pop and counting stats this season.

Xander Bogaerts went 2-for-5 with a double and a pair of runs scored on Friday in his return to the Padres' lineup.

Jun 10   7:38 AM

Bogaerts stubbornly asserted that he wouldn't require a trip to the injured list, despite missing four consecutive games due to lingering left wrist soreness, and made an immediate impact in his return to San Diego's lineup. The 30-year-old shortstop hasn't quite been the same offensive force fantasy managers are used to ever since being hit by a pitch back in mid-April, but he's insisted on playing through the issue rather than taking time off.

J.D. Davis (hip) flew out as a pinch-hitter on Friday in the Giants' loss to the Cubs.

Jun 10   7:38 AM

Davis was scratched from San Francisco's lineup on Friday due to right hip tightness, but was able to come off the bench to pinch-hit in the ninth inning. It seems unlikely that he'll wind up requiring a trip to the injured list at this juncture. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now.

Danny Jansen (groin) went 1-for-3 with a solo homer on Friday in a minor league rehab game for Triple-A Buffalo.

Jun 10   7:38 AM

Jansen kicked off his rehab assignment with a homer and is aiming to rejoin Toronto's catching mix sometime next week.

Matt Vierling (back) went 1-for-3 with an RBI on Friday in a minor league rehab contest for Triple-A Toledo.

Jun 10   7:38 AM

Vierling figures to only require a couple minor league rehab games to get back up to speed after landing on the injured list a couple weeks ago due to lower back soreness.

Félix Bautista recorded two strikeouts in a perfect ninth inning on Friday against the Royals to record his 17th save of the season.

Jun 10   7:02 AM

Bautista was summoned to protect a one-run advantage and required just 10 pitches (nine strikes) to slam the door. The 27-year-old flamethrower is putting together a surreal 2023 campaign, converting 17 of 21 save opportunities to accompany a microscopic 1.16 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 64/17 K/BB ratio across 31 innings (30 appearances). He's struck out exactly half (64) of the 126 total batters he's faced this season. Absurd.

Yandy Díaz went 1-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts on Friday in his return to the Rays' lineup.

Jun 10   7:02 AM

Díaz was back atop Tampa Bay's lineup following a two-game absence recovering from some minor left hip soreness. It doesn't sound like he's going to wind up missing any additional time moving forward.

Caleb Ferguson gave up a walk-off homer in the bottom of the ninth inning Friday to take a loss to the Phillies.

Jun 10   6:41 AM

The Dodgers had Ferguson, Evan Phillips and Brusdar Graterol all rested and ready tonight, but Ferguson was the choice to pitch the ninth in a tie game. It proved to be a mistake, as Ferguson was scored upon for the fourth time in five appearances. His ERA has climbed from 0.98 to 3.68 during that span. Both Phillips and Graterol currently seem, and always have seemed, to be better bets going forward.

José Ramírez went 3-for-4 with a homer and three walks as the Guardians bested the Astros 10-9 in 14 innings Friday.

Jun 10   3:35 AM

It was 6-6 after nine innings. Both teams went scoreless in the 10th and then put up one run each half inning until the Guardians scored twice in the bottom of the 14th. Ramírez was intentionally walked twice in extras, allowing him to reach base safely six times for the first time in his career. With the three-homer game Thursday, he's raised his OPS from .760 to .843 in two days.

José Abreu went 2-for-7 with a three-run homer against the Guardians on Friday.

Jun 10   3:35 AM

Abreu's 377-foot drive to the opposite field was one of the most impressive feats he's pulled off this season, but the rest of his night wasn't great. He still seems to be a ways off from being useful in mixed leagues.

Ryan Pressly took a blown save after giving up a run in the ninth Friday against the Guardians.

Jun 10   3:35 AM

Pressly got the first two batters he faced before a José Ramírez walk and a Josh Naylor double tied the game. It was his second blown save in 13 chances this year, but he's still quite secure in his job.

Cristian Javier wasn't involved in the decision after allowing four runs in five innings Friday against the Guardians.

Jun 10   3:35 AM

Javier wound up with just two missed swings and two strikeouts tonight. His season strikeout rate currently sits at 24.8%, which is well down from 33.2% last year. Fortunately, his walk rate has also shrunk and he's still generating plenty of soft contact. However, his velocity is down about one mph and his stuff right now just isn't as good as it was in 2022.

Kyle Tucker had two hits, two RBI and two steals versus the Guardians on Friday.

Jun 10   3:35 AM

Tucker hasn't been doing a whole lot of running lately, but he's 10-for-11 when he does decide to go this year. While he's not hitting quite up to expectations, there's still a good chance he'll wind up providing something close to first-round value this year.

Yusei Kikuchi threw five innings and allowed two runs against the Twins in a no-decision Friday.

Jun 10   3:14 AM

Kikuchi hasn't gotten more than 15 outs in any of his last six starts, but what he's doing is still working well enough. The 3-2 loss in 10 innings tonight was just the fourth time in 13 games that they Jays have been defeated with Kikuchi on the mound.

Jhoan Duran earned a victory after throwing scoreless ninth and 10th innings versus the Blue Jays on Friday.

Jun 10   3:14 AM

Duran maintained a 2-2 tie in the ninth and then got the win after preventing the automatic runner from scoring in the 10th. He has just one save in the last month, but he's given up only one earned run and posted an 18/3 K/BB ratio in 12 1/3 innings during that span.

Michael A. Taylor hit a two-run homer in the fifth and delivered a sac fly in the 10th to knock in all of Minnesota's runs Friday in a 3-2 win over Toronto.

Jun 10   3:14 AM

Taylor was losing playing time to Nick Gordon for a spell, but with Gordon on the IL, he's again getting the vast majority of the time in center and he's hit nine homers in 174 plate appearances. He's also 10-for-10 stealing bases. He's not doing enough in the other categories to justify using him in shallow leagues, but he's been pretty solid for Minnesota.
